OVERVIEW: The Database Operations Specialist will, as part of a team based
approach, supply complete support for all aspects of database and application
infrastructure to a variety of clients, as assigned under the vigilance of a
senior team member of Team Lead.   RESPONSIBILITES: Configuring and maintaining
database servers Supporting SQL Server Database services Administrating backup
procedures and disaster recovery plans Troubleshooting operational problems
Administrating proactive daily checks Responding to monitoring alerts
Participating in on-call coverage rotation plan Communicating status and
planning activities to team members and Team LeadDesired Skills and
ExperienceQUALIFICATIONS: The position requires specialized knowledge and
experience in performing some or all of the following: Installing, configuring
and upgrading SQL Server databases SQL Server Administration including: SQL
Server technical support SQL Server tools Designing and/or implementing various
SQL Server backup/recovery strategies SQL Server replication SQL Server Disaster
Recovery and High Availability solutions (Clustering, Log Shipping, Database
Mirroring T-SQL coding scripts, procedures, functions, etc. Performance tuning
of SQL Server databases Client requests and projects as required Working
directly with the internal team and Team Lead Potentially working directly with
external customers Good written and verbal communication skills in English

WORKING CONDITIONS: Participate in on-call rotation and periodic overtime
Ability to perform primary job functions while standing or sitting for extended
periods of time Dexterity of hands and fingers (or skill with adaptive devices)
to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other computing equipment The
incumbent must spend long hours in intense concentration Stress may be caused by
the need to complete tasks within tight deadlines EDUCATION: Undergraduate
degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technology or
